Neopharmed Gentili announces Exclusive Licensing Agreement with Global Pharma Major Lupin Limited for the commercialization and promotion of Plasil® in Brazil and the Philippines

Neopharmed Gentili S.p.A. (“Neopharmed”), an Italian pharmaceutical company active in the marketing of high-value therapeutic solutions, controlled by the Del Bono Family and two leading international private equity firms, Ardian and Renaissance Partners, today announced that it has entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with global pharma major Lupin Limited (“Lupin”) for the commercialization and promotion of its leading gastroenterology brand Plasil® (metoclopramide) in Brazil and the Philippines.

Following the acquisition of Plasil® brand from Sanofi closed in April 2025, Neopharmed selected Lupin and its local affiliates (MedQuimica in Brazil and Multicare Pharmaceuticals in the Philippines) as its partner of choice in these markets. Under the terms of the agreement, Multicare and MedQuimica will take over the marketing, promotion, and distribution of Plasil® in the Philippines and Brazil, respectively.

Neopharmed will oversee product supply in the Philippines, ensuring adherence to the company’s high quality and global compliance standards. In Brazil, manufacturing will be transferred to MedQuimica’s production facility to support local market needs and ensure efficient distribution.

This transaction further expands Neopharmed’s global network of trusted partners and marks the company’s first entry into the South American market, reinforcing its international growth strategy.

Plasil® is widely acknowledged for its efficacy in treating nausea, vomiting, and motility disorders that affect millions of patients.

“We are pleased to partner with Lupin to bring Plasil® to two strategic and rapidly growing markets, such as Brazil and the Philippines. This agreement reflects our commitment to expanding Neopharmed’s international footprint, while leveraging Lupin’s strong local presence to ensure that Plasil® is available to every patient in need”, said Matteo Meazzini, Director of Business Development, Neopharmed Gentili.

“Our partnership with Neopharmed represents a significant milestone in Lupin’s commitment to expand access to Plasil, a trusted and widely recognized gastrointestinal treatment, across key emerging markets. Our extensive local presence, regulatory expertise, and strong commercial capabilities in the Philippines and Brazil, together with Neopharmed’s distribution network and reach, will broaden patient access and deliver meaningful health outcomes”, said Fabrice Egros, President of Corporate Development, Lupin.
