EnGAGing Flow - Where Vascular Innovation Flows
Spider veins and varicose veins are not just a cosmetic issue: inflammation can worsen symptoms and affect cardiovascular health.
Milan, March 23, 2026 – Leg pain and heaviness, nighttime cramps, itching, and swelling: these are some of the most common symptoms of chronic venous disease (CVD), a widespread condition affecting up to 40–50% of the Italian population. Its manifestations range from visible capillaries to varicose veins and, in more advanced cases, to the appearance of edema, skin changes, and ulcers.
Despite this, these signs are often mistaken for mere cosmetic issues, when in fact they represent a genuine medical condition. Chronic venous disease, in fact, triggers inflammatory processes that can affect the entire circulatory system, contributing over time to an increased cardiovascular risk.
To raise awareness of these issues, “EnGAGing Flow 2026 – where vascular innovation flows” was launched — an event that brought together leading Italian specialists in the study and treatment of vascular diseases for two days in Milan.
An important occasion to shed light on conditions that are very common yet still poorly understood. The event was organized with the non-binding support of Neopharmed Gentili with the aim of promoting new awareness about leg health, enabling early recognition of the signs of chronic venous disease and improving the quality of life for those who suffer from it
